Synopsis |
This project aims to design and implement of a set of novel dynamic available bandwidth (AvBw) detection and distributed connection control algorithms for anycast flows in hybrid networks. More specifically, the project involves:
- designing algorithms that use simple probe packet and RTT weighting algorithms for destination selection and efficient connection to a best possible server for anycast flows;
- designing and analyzing a set of algorithms for link detection and dynamic available bandwidth detection in wired networks for end-to-end flow streaming;
- investigating efficient parallel connection algorithms based on the end-to-end available bandwidth of a path in a hybrid network;
- designing a set of novel algorithms for end-to-end available bandwidth detection in the integration of wired and wireless (e.g. IEEE 802.11 or 3G) networks; and
- implementing available bandwidth and avanycast flow control protocol in hybrid networks for (mobile) industrial applications.
